The Linhay in Print: British Cabins & Hideaways

In March 2021, when things were still a little bit weird in the world of holiday accommodation following Covid – I’m struggling to recall how things actually were! – the wonderful photographer Holly Farrier came to stay in the Linhay. We were introduced by @KipHideaways, who have a fabulous website filled with a curated collection of ‘small places with soul’ of which the Linhay is one.

Following her stay, Holly sent some gorgeous photos that beautifully captured the Linhay in Winter. It was a crisp, cold weekend when she stayed, perfect for stoking the firepit and enjoying the sounds of the river & breeze in the trees or hunkering down in front of the cosy wood burner.

An opinionated guide book to British Cabins & Hideaways

Scroll forward 18 months and a lovely book arrives in the post, a veritable bucket list of cabins and bothies across the UK of which the Linhay is one. I can’t recommend this book highly enough, not just because the Linhay is featured but because it really is the most wonderful collection of stunning spaces, all sensitively photographed & edited by Holly. Essential information on each of the 38 entries includes the design, facilities, location and things to do nearby. Described as an opinionated guide, I certainly value Holly’s opinion and have already bookmarked several places I’d like to stay. Even Escape owners need an Escape once in a while!!

I’ve added a copy to the collection of books in the Linhay. If you’d like a copy of your own (they’d make a great gift) you can buy books direct from Hoxton Minipress
