Wonderful wildlife at Butterhills Escapes...

Butterhills valley is a haven for wildlife, the ancient woodland and pastures attract a wide range of animals and whilst there’s no guarantee you’ll see them all during your stay in the Linhay you’ll certainly see plenty.

Red deer and fallow deer roam through the woods and fields along with foxes, badgers and stoats. We know there are otters who fish in the stream following a survey, they’re super shy but some of our guests were lucky enough to see one playing in the river right opposite the Linhay. What a magical experience for them!

Birdwatching guests have supplied us with a list of birds they’ve spotted and the bird feeder attracts a good many of these so you can watch them from the comfort of the sofa. And if you should see any that aren’t on the list do let us know so that we can add them.
