Squires Fish & Chip Restaurant, Braunton

This top-class, award-winning restaurant & take away serves (probably) the best fish & chips you’ll have ever tasted – that’s not just us saying it but our guests too!

The cod is fantastic, light crispy batter means beautifully cooked fish inside, just as it should be. The fish curry is delicious too and, if you're eating in, there's a great selection of other fish dishes. In our opinion fish and chips are best enjoyed outside - on Saunton Beach or by the Linhay fire-pit! We'd recommend ordering your take-away via their website and booking the collection time. This means you can act like a local in the know and swan past the inevitable queues to collect your order. Perfect for picking your meal up on the way to, or from, the beach. Squires Fish Restaurant

The Beach Café, Downend, Croyde

There's nothing quite like eating a delicious Sri Lankan curry watching the sun set over the sea at the end of a busy day on the beach or exploring the local area. Our guest feedback has been fantastic too, many have ordered a takeaway to enjoy back at the Linhay around the firepit or snuggled in front of the wood burner on an autumn evening...

They serve great breakfasts and lunches too, with picnic tables on site, a licensed bar, plenty of parking and very dog friendly of course.

New Coast Kitchen, Croyde

If you're planning a special evening out then New Coast Kitchen, in the centre of Croyde, is the perfect choice! We've had some great meals here :)

Their dinner menu is created with fresh, local produce and sustainably sourced from local suppliers to ensure the quality of our ingredients. Food is their passion, and they put everything into showcasing the best of modern British cuisine, by producing unique dishes that aim to excite. Booking is advised.

The brunch menu is delicious too – we often reward ourselves with brunch at New Coast after a long cycle ride! New Coast Kitchen 

The Crown Inn, West Down

Chef owner Mark & his wife Sue have created a proper village pub serving good pub food, excellent ales and providing a central hub for the community of West Down. The Crown Inn is a lovely walk from Butterhills with stunning views from the top of West Hill on the way. Just 1 ½ miles from the Linhay by quiet country lanes or a little further if you opt for the footpath route. Footnote… Locally, stunning views is a euphemism for hilly climbs, not too onerous but you will certainly have earned your meal or pint!!

A great favourite amongst all our guests, there’s a large and very pretty garden, pool table and cosy wood burner in the colder months. Wilde Thyme Café, Braunton

Definitely one of our favourites for an excellent coffee and the perfect place for brunch. Home cooked food, smoothies, juices and their own brand roasted coffee. Mediterranean inspired menu with vegetarian and gluten free options – they’re open every day until 3pm. Dogs allowed inside and out – you can park right outside. Wilde Thyme Instagram
